I know not to let them actually grab you, they cant turn very fast so you just keep getting behind them. They have long claws as you know and those little forearms can do some real damage...but it's the back legs you really must watch out for. Ive never seen it done but have heard of the damage they do. This person must have pissed him off big time to get this reaction.Tempohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01023337124226272532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6915802695401210134.post-65284681543144957532011-01-13T09:09:20.848+10:302011-01-13T09:09:20.848+10:30That photographer was very lucky that the roo did...That photographer was very lucky that the roo didn't rip his or her belly out with it's hind legs.Windsmoke.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12225394580987872677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6915802695401210134.post-90165505779943618492011-01-13T08:47:32.347+10:302011-01-13T08:47:32.347+10:30Hi Pearl, We have both in abundance, a walk in the...Hi Pearl, We have both in abundance, a walk in the bush just out of town here will find you several Roo's sleeping under trees. If you don't get too close they just look at you then go back to sleep. Driving the highways at night sees you dodging constantly to miss them. Sadly I've hit 4 or 5 over the years. No Crocs in Southern Aust...just sharks! Whew!!
Hey Symdaddy, someones been lying to you my friend.. Roo's can and do swim. If chased they will go into the water but will not follow you into the water. Ive seen one go into the sea to avoid a big dog, it's owner stood laughing until I told him I would shoot his dog if he did not call it back. (Roo's are protected)Tempohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01023337124226272532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6915802695401210134.post-5464991375694467822011-01-13T03:13:21.532+10:302011-01-13T03:13:21.532+10:30Having had a close encounter by a big red 'roo...Having had a close encounter by a big red 'roo' some years ago, I was somewhat unsettled by that picture.

They are damned fast!
