Down by the sea...

It's getting hotter.
This week has been getting hotter by the day, today will be 38C, tomorrow will be few degrees hotter still and the town has seemingly gone to sleep.

The only activity is very early in the morning when we rush about getting fuel, groceries etc.
The rest of the day the town will be deserted, no cars on the streets, no one walking or jogging, no one to be seen.
During the week some of the shops remain busy, especially those in the Mall where old people and those without air conditioning go to spend their days in the relative cool. But today is Sunday....
I was out at 6am to take a few shots of the marina and the sun rising, it's calm and clear and when that sun comes up there will be no cooling breeze, no wafting clouds, just relentless heat...
I'll be at home
trying to stay cool...

Wow, 38 and getting hotter?! We could do with some of that heat up here in the northern hemisphere. Great photos Tempo

Hi Joe, I read the blogs of people living in North America, British Isles and Canada and when you guys are freezing we are in high Summer..it would be so nice to swap a little of that heat.

Down here in Adelaide it reached 39.2, now at almost 7pm it is still 38. We have 39 predicted again tomorrow, poo! and I have to stand around at bus stops getting to and from work. Thankfully "they" say Tuesday will be only 29, let's hope they're right.

Hi River, it got well over 40 here, everyone got sent home early because they were pulling down a huge tin shed out in the sun. By lunchtime they were done in and couldnt go on. Lets hope the cool change comes in early...

Your photos are lovely. I grew up in California where the summers were like yours. When I was a girl sometimes road workers would die of the heat. I don't think that happens any more - they are more careful now. It is awful to be without air conditioning in that kind of weather.

Hi Belle, most people have air conditioning but the cost of power has blown right out recently due to the government issuing a Carbon tax on power companies which has doubled our bills to the point where a lot of low income earners can no longer run their conditioners. It's going to cost the current government their jobs but that does nothing for those suffering.
