Wouldn't you know it...

We have just one Formula 500 meeting at our local track this season and it's this weekend.. It will be a good meeting as we've had rain all afternoon today making for a nice damp track and fast racing but...
Our number one driver had to have a full knee reconstruction two weeks ago and he's still not walking without crutches. He wont be racing this week... ( a football injury)
Our number two driver had to change his license from the saloon car to the Formula 500 and it still hasn't come through so he wont be racing either..

A chance to fly the colors locally and we miss out!

Not a happy team.

Hi Tempo,
That really is a lot of bad luck all at once, maybe the license will come through in time? I hope so, it would be a shame for everyone, after all the work, to miss out on this.

That is really too bad! Gettin all excited for something you worked hard on & then not being able to use it is the very essence of disappointment.

Your car looks set to rumble even though the racing gods have deserted you or somones stolen your lucky rabbit's foot :-).

@Mags, It doesn't work like that Mags we have to nominate for the meeting several days before we race and that was Wednesday..no license ,no racing. It's already to late.
@KaLynn, at least the cars wont get wrecked this week... it's all part and parcel of the motorsport.
Ah, Jules, I hadn't thought of that... I'm sure he wouldn't see it as funny, but then I guess he's not the number two driver for no reason eh?!
Hi Belle, Racing (like life) is sometimes quite unfair, sometimes you do everything right and still end up in-field watching life wizz by...
Hi Sarah, When he got the call two weeks ago to say he had to come in and have the knee done we thought it was going to be doubtful that we would make it, of course being young he's still keen even with his knee blown up like a football but it's just too much of a risk...
Hi Windsmoke, the cars are all set to go, repaired from the crash a few weeks ago and running better than they ever did..but then we start every season like this and haven't won a season yet... (sigh)
