Ted Mulry Gang - Jump In My Car (1975)

How about going back in time to Sydney harbor in Australia in 1975

A time when I was a young impressionable teenager.

I would say 'That takes me back!', but I've never heard of 'em!

I remember this number well, but being 25 years old and married at the time, my memories are probably different to yours, Tempo. Cheers.

That is a cute video and song. If that had been the Beatles, I would have been in the water too!

Hi Symdaddy, they were local to Australia and their style (if you can call it that) would not have been well understood anywhere else. Even this song (their most popular) was full of Aussie slang and place references not understood anywhere else.

Hi Malcfifty, I actually thought this was corny and it didnt sit well with ACDC,Angels,Cold Chisel that I was listening to at the time but it sure got popular and as a bit of Australiana it fits right in.

Hi Mags, It sure brings back memories..those seaside concerts were popular at the time and I remember seeing Midnight Oil on one once. It was never a song you could listen to over and over..once every now and then was quite enough..

Hi Belle, A very local Aussie thing were the Ted Mulray Gang, corny then and still but this funny song went to number one for a few weeks.

I didn't need to watch the video because i remember the Ted Mulray Gang and Jump in my Car because it sticks in your head and never leaves. I'll be humming this song all day now :-).

Hi Windsmoke, It's not just about the music mate...the footage of Sydney harbor is priceless. An Australia of yesteryear.

I love, love, love this song!! Also DarkTown Strutters Ball. They're on my i-pod and have been since I got it back in whatever year they first came out.
